The ongoing “plausible genocide” by Israel in Gaza has prompted the publication of many books trying to explain what is happening in the occupied Palestinian territory. The absence of any meaningful and unbiased coverage and analysis by the mainstream media has made this almost inevitable. The Gaza genocide, though, is the first genocide to be witnessed around the world in real time on social media, often by footage shared by the perpetrators. The evidence is there for all to see. And yet governments in the West continue to give the Zionist state of Israel licence to act with impunity. Indeed, many are complicit in the genocide by supplying military, political and diplomatic support.
That is why one needs books such as The Fall of Israel: The Degradation of Israel’s Politics, Economy & Military. Dan Steinbock takes one through a lot that has been covered before by others, but he adds to the canon with a lot of new material, as well as fresh ways of looking at the things about which many think they know all there is to know.
