Review

This book is a collection of 14 articles on the theme of the repression of the critics of Israel. Such a repression is not new for the repression of academics in France, for example, has been studied before. The present book compiles articles by critics of Israeli policies who are based in the US.

The book is literally a voice in the sense that there is no overarching framework for studying the construct of knowledge or types of knowledge repressed. Instead what one gets are 14 articles written by various academics about their experiences of academic repression and persecution at the hands of the Israeli lobby in the USA. These academics are current or former employer of academic institutions in America who have experienced repressive tendencies as a result of their critique of Israel. The acts of repressing academics include their denial of a tenure and promotion, the rejection of their grant applications, their expulsion from work and being maligned and vilified (p. 1).
