Abdul Kader Choughley has recently broadened and deepened the study of Islam, especially of Qur’anic studies in South Asia. In association with the K.
A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, he has now brought out this insightful book, meticulously analyzing the works of tafsir in the Indo-Pak subcontinent over the centuries. Apart from his own thought- provoking observations on the topic under study, his work basically constitutes a balanced and engaging critique on the publication series in Urdu of Aligarh Muslim University Quran Centre on the contributions of various schools of thought to Qur’anic studies, particularly in the 19th and 20th centuries.
