The book is a narration of Qur’anic events mentioning animals and wildlife, from their own perspective. The author has taken sixteen stories from the Qur’an where animals are mentioned, and written short stories of about twenty pages each. Some of those are famous examples, for instance of Prophet Yunus and the whale, whereas some are relatively less known such as the dog of the Ashab al-Kahf, or the People of the Cave. However, the last chapter entitled “The Spider of the Cave” is not based on the Qur’an, but pertains to the Sunnah. The author acknowledges this in the introduction (p. 11).
