Review
This most endearing book comes in English (pp. 1-366), German (pp. 367-422), French (pp. 423-439), and Arabic (32 pages) and is definitely a precious donation to all the admirers of Leopold Weiss, alias Muhammad Asad, “Europe’s gift to Islam” as a scientist, journalist, and politician. The editor assembled contributions from no less than 24 Asadians, including Jamiluddin Ahmad, Toheed Ahmad, Zahid Munir Amir, Talal Asad (Muhammad Asad’s son, pp. 25-41), Ebrahim Ahmed Bawany, Amber Darr, Intikhab Hanif, Florence Heymann, Axel Monte, Sarah Iqbal, Ismail Ibrahim Nawwab, Marmaduke Pickthall, Malise Ruthven, Dominik Schlosser, Reinhard Schulze, Muhammad Sultan Shah, Umer Thasneem, Johannes Wimmer, Günter Windhager, Boguslaw Zagorski, and Hans Zbinden. The editor contributed five articles and included three from this reviewer.
