Since its inception in 2012, K. A. Nizami Centre for Quranic Studies, Aligarh Muslim University, has been conducting every year an All India Seminar on various aspects of Qurʾānic Studies, that is apart from bringing out a wide range of books on the Qurʾān, delivering B.A. (Hons) and MA Qurʾānic Studies programmes, organizing extensive lectures, and publishing its biannual e-journal, Aligarh Journal of Quranic Studies. The volume under review is a collection of 33 papers, 8 in English and 25 in Urdu, on the ways and means of popularizing the study of the Qurʾān among women. Of special interest are the case studies of the following women’s institutions: Adult Quranic Education Programme, Srinagar, J&K; Jamia Al-Salihat, Rampur, Madrasa Al-Banat Al-Islamia and on-line resources. Abu Sufyan Islahi’s article is a critique on the renowned Qurʾān scholar Bint al-Shāṭʾi (pp.16-45).
