This book, part of the Routledge Research in Education series, seeks to address and explore the relationship between the currently topical notions of Islam, Education and Leadership. It must be stated at the outset that although the book is extremely well written and researched, it cannot be considered a completely original or pioneering study. For instance, Abdullah Sahin’s New Directions in Islamic Education: Pedagogy and Identity Formation offers a far greater and comprehensive insight into the actual theoretical notions of education and leadership alongside the actual lived experiences of the Muslim youth in modern day Britain. Shah however presents a mature scholarly debate on five significant themes: Islam and Knowledge; Educational Leadership; Gender and Educational Leadership; Case study of Educational Leaders in UK; Islamic Faith Schools, which are organised into individual chapters....
